AMAZON SCAM CALLS: LIVE DATA
The Amazon Scam consists of an automated call supposedly originating from the retail giant. This consists of the scammer telling you that your Amazon Prime is due for renewal, you missed a delivery, or you have been charged for a purchase and to confirm if it was you.
The automated voice will tell you to press a number on your dial pad to speak to one of their bogus agents. After you’re put through, they will attempt to retrieve your bank details by asking you to pay to renew your Amazon prime or pay a small fee for your package to be redelivered. If you give this information the scammer will empty your bank account.
Amazon has confirmed in a press release they will never ask for personal information outside of their website. This includes bank details, login details, one-time passcode, or any other personal info that could be used to gain access to your account.
