Just received this call from an Indian guy...just said "hi how are you?"

I asked who was he looking for and he just said "I'm looking for some guy who has had a car accident in the last two years, are you that guy??" this is great considering I live in a new home and the phone line is just over one year old so god knows how he got my number.

I pushed for an actual name and he hung up.

I answered a call at my elderly dad's home today- said from First Call Payment Protection - they knew my dad's name and address and wanted his date of birth for a security check so they could send a payment of £2249.00 owning to him for PPI mis-selling by Lloyds-TSB.
I checked with dad- he'd never had a loan/mortgage from Lloyds- when I challenged them about the validity of the call and accused them of the scam, the man said they would keep the money (hardly re-enforcing the story of a company helping with a mis-selling situation).

asked for person who left in 2003, said was from Microsoft, re messages from my computer. I said I didn't have one. He said maybe someone else in property. I repeated ,havnt got one. Asked for my name, I refused saying its none of his business, goodbye. Took quite a while for him to hang up.

I love it when they call to tell my "My computer is sending error messages" i managed to keep the last person on the line for over 15 mins while he tried to explain where my "ctrl" key was. After 10 frustraing minutes (For him, i was in stitches!) he went on to try and explain where the "Windows Key" was, Finally got him to hang up when i explained my windows were single glazed and could not be locked like modern Double glazed windows, His actual response was "Are you having a Joke?" to which i replied "No, But you are if you think i am going to give you access to my computer". ME 1 - Scammers 0.

Number called today, when I answered had silence and then the phone was put down. I then read online reports from others on this no. being a pc repair scam. Did notice when I put the phone down to dial 1471 that it did not clear down easily, as said they are keeping on the line so when you think you're phoning the police/bt, you're still on the line to the scammers.

I had info that call is from tx USA, didn't answer,it has to be related to my recent pc problems, just don't know how yet

Received a call from this number 9:40 this morning claiming to be from Windows Corp - he had my name address and phone number but not my email address! Talked me through event viewer and msconfig showing me where my computer was reporting windows errors. Was suspicious so turned off my hub! He then told me to run www.showmypc.com at which point I ended the call - only to try and call Police and BT but finding him still on line! Pulled the phone from the socket and used mobile to call BT (no they hadn't used my line to make international calls) and Police. According to the Police this is a regular scam - if I had run showmypc, they would have locked my pc and demanded a huge fee to unlock it.

Keep getting call off this number. Don't answer. Better still get a BT call guardian phone like I have and block them . They can still call but your phone will not ring.
