I received a call on this number from a person with an Indian accent claiming he is from HSBC. He said there was a security problem with my account, he gave me my last name, and day of birth, and asked me to complete my date of birth. I stopped him immediately because I realized it was a scam. HSBC, clearly says they don't call you to ask about your security details. Watch out guys!!!

A person with an Indian accent called and asked to confirm my date of birth as well as my home address.
I contacted HSBC via chat and they said that it was NOT one of their numbers and that it was likely a phishing scam.

    This is definitely HSBC.
An Indian gentleman knew about my recent request to close the account.
Didn't ask for any details other than to confirm my home address.
I had a missed call yesterday from 00441924810047 which also seems to be an HSBC number.

Indian sounding lady, claiming to be from HSBC, problem with payment instruction apparently. Asked me to confirm 2nd half of my post code and I then asked what the problem with the payment instruction was to which the response was "I'll send you a letter"

HSBC normally ring from 0800 numbers, not from Barnsley

I had a missed call from this number. For someone living in US, this is an international call. I am still having a bank account with HSBC, but they would never call me. Be careful, one year after the first report, they are still calling from this number and it could easily be an internet-based number choosing UK area code.

Got a call from this number this morning (8.15) claiming to be from hsbc. Firstly, outside banking hours so made me suspicious, even though she had my husbands full name, and my full name. When she said it was regarding a signed request we'd made, I knew it was a hoax as we've done no such thing and told her so - hung up because I was dripping wet from the shower. Afterwards, I wondered if it really was a bank security check and that somebody had made a fraudulent claim in our name...then dialled 1471 to find out if it really was the bank. And then checked the number online and fetched up here...it seems to be the same lady, with an almost unintelligible Indian accent...

I didn't pick the call. Checked voice mail later and found they were saying from HSBC and asked to call back. Why would my bank call me? Never returned a call. Looks like bogus or phishing or spam.

Said they were calling from HSBC, asked me to confirm information 2nd half of my postcode and my date of birth. Advised i wouldn't pass over this information, Indian lady (very poor english) gave me a reference number saying for me to quote this at any branch and i'd be advised what the call is about.

Have received a number of emails regarding stock transfer from HSBC to a company who has an office near ours. Have ignored these.

But have now had a phone call from this number referring to the same stock transfer. Would have kept her on the phone a bit longer to make her aware that it was obvious it was a scam call - but her English was so bad she couldn't understand what I was saying.
