An Asian sounding man, claiming to be "John" (also claiming to be from BT Openreach) telephoned to tell me that I was about to loose the internet for up to 14 days. There was a lot of background noise on the call, with what sounded like numerous people speaking over each other.
I stopped him ("John") to tell him to stop lying and hung up on him!

Had my name and said there was a change in the local exchange, something about the fibre being put on a different frequency?? He didn't know where the exchange was and when I said I wouldn't do anything without a letter from my service provider he said I would loose internet for a few days. I asked for his number so that I could get back to them and he gave me the big standard BT number, I asked for his department and he said he was from BT Openreach Help desk department.

A man said he was from BT Openreach and he was calling about my slow internet connection. I said did he want me to go and log on to my computer so that he could access it remotely and put a virus on it? He said no but I said I had not asked him to call and I didn't want him to call again, and that I thought he was operating a scam. He hung up.
