This number called me before 8:00 a.m. this morning - I have a message on my answerphone telling callers I never pick up unrecognised numbers and no message was left - just background noise. I don't expect early morning calls so instantly thought something was wrong - very annoyed. First time they've called me - very useful to see others' comments.

Called today pretending to be Microsoft. Wanted me to turn on my computer so they could hack in and solve the problem. When I said how was not convenient they were rude and said "oh, so I guess you're fine with your computer being hacked then" and hung up!

Call from this number today, only responded after a few seconds once I answered the call. An indian(?) sounding gentleman by the name of Michael from Microsoft saying that there was a problem with my computer and the version of the Windows operating system (I think - I was unable to understand him due to the poor call quality). He asked if I was the owner of the computer, was I in front of it and was it switched on. He asked me to tell him what I could see on the screen. Finally, when he was getting no-where he asked me to hit the Windows key, between the CTRL and ALT keys. I told him my keyboard didn't have that key ... well it wouldn't as it is an Apple keyboard ...!
The line went quiet and finally dead.

This number called. When answered no-one spoke but line still open then automated voice said "goodbye". It's as though they are checking something in background!!! Very worrying as well as being a nuisance.

They claim to be Microsoft. I strung them along for 12 minutes with my machine off-line. It is the only way I can get my own back - wasting their time. This is a genuine number and goes to answerphone, my guess is at someone's line who has got right up their noses.

Had a call just now, to say my computer was being hacked and they could sort it for me. Asian lady, asked me to switch on my computer, when I said it was, she passed me to a "technical supervisor" to sort it for me. When he came on the line, I asked him to hold on as I was on my other phone, to speak to the police about the hacking. He said there was no need, I said this is a criminal offence, again he said NO, don't call them, hang up. I told him I really needed to speak to them and was waiting for a reply, he said again I must hang up, as he could sort it, I said I didn't think that was enough and then he hung up

These calls are fraudulent, and they can be very rude and threatening. Hang up straight away, they try and keep you talking on any basis so I'm worried they are checking something in the background.

Called 1st December at 15.17 said they were from Microsoft and that there had been illegal activity on my computer and would help me stop it. Wanted me to turn on the computer (which I was already in front of) and for me to give them remote access to 'solve the non-existent problem'!
The caller was female with a foreign accent that I could not place - a few days ago I had a similar call from a female with an Indian accent.
I was well aware from the start that they were scammers and let them waste a bit of their time (and mine) before I told them as much and terminated the call.
Microsoft never alert computer users so BEWARE!
