Similar to other comments. Asian guy rings and says they are from British Gas and responsible for invoicing. There appears to be an error on our bill and they need information to correct it. They already know the supply number, your address and your telephone number which is concerning. It did seem very odd as we have been with BG for over a year, on a smart meter and the invoices are automatically generated so highly unlikely to be some issue on the bill!
Hopefully if anyone else gets such a call they too Google the telephone number and see these comments.
Number called me (Asian Guy) and claimed to have been an error on my last meter reading as the reader had entered the wrong postcode. Asked me to confirm lots of details from the last invoice, but knew my meter number / supply number etc so seemed legitimate. Only when he starter to ask me details from my invoice did i get suspicious and asked him why he didnt have that information already and he said it was because the input had overwritten everything. Googled number and hung up!
01313670219 Called 03/03/2022 Claiming to be from Drax and said there has been an under-calculation error on the resent invoice and he requires immediate payment today.

Asian guy, said our postcode was incorrect & he needed to check our last meter reading. I was out of the house & I asked him to email me the details. He got abusive saying our supply could be cut off. I put the phone down & he called back. Checked with EON next and nobody has called me from there so set up a password on my account for future.
An Asian man told me he was calling from E-on about the meter readings I sent last week. Told me to get the invoice out and give him my account number..........................he got very angry when I said if your'e from E-on then you tell me my account number. I asked for his manager and he told me to wait. Then he came back on the phone pretending to be someone else. He told me he was from the meter readers.................................Considering he was calling from an Edinburgh number and I'm down south. I told him to come and read the meters himself if he didn't believe me! He hung up.
Asian woman aged 30-50 years of age telephoned stating that she was from Eon Next energy wanting my postcode. She also stated she was going to give me a code to confirm her authenticity. Thereafter they could then confirm my bank details. This is scam phone call. DO NOT under any circumstances give any person calling from this telephone number any information. Simply hang up and block the call number on your phone.
Received a very convincing call from someone saying they were from Octopus Energy. Saying there was a postcode error on our last reading and wanted more information from me!
Said they were from Scottish power,checking our postcode and said they have the wrong meter asked for a name.
looked at our account and it was all in order so we think this a scam as they finished by saying they are not processing any bills
at the moment.
