I am amazed that so many people do not know. that UK telephone numbers have 11 digits. This should
be checked in all cases .

Also when a call contains 12 digits it is from a country outside the UK

As this Scam. no . has only. 10 digits it is obviously fraudulen

The lawsuit message was left on our answer phone twice. What a load of rubbish. Our name wasn't mentioned once. Evidently a scam but must be worrying for the oldies. My mother, 88 would be terrified . She's fallen for the Microsoft scam before. Scared her off having a computer.

Can this number be added to the blocked list for those on the phone preference list? My father also received a call, as did his neighbour and my aunt. He was terrified until I read out comments from this site to him and he believed me it was a scam. Still, when a plumber called at his house today he was convinced it was the police. He is 85.

I too was informed of a serious lawsuit against my mame supposedly from HMRC. Apparently this was my last chance to act before there were serious legal consequences. Name given was Lisa.

I received a call regarding a serious lawsuit against me. It's utter rubbish. If anyone receives this, just delete it from your phone messages. HMRC would write to you if there was a problem. THIS IS A SCAM. The people who do this are vile.

A robotic sounding female voice left a message on my landline answering service, telling me there is a "serious lawsuit filed against my name" and to "Avoid further legal consequences" I should call the number. It then sounds garbled and again says to "call me and so on as soon as possible" and "this is your last chance to avoid serious legal consequences". Again its garbled and says the caller is "Officer Lisa Williams from HM revenue and customs" and then "Thank you and have a blessed day". Obviously some kind of scam but very worrying initially. They don't have "Officers" at HMRC and wishing me a "blessed day" is very odd given they're supposedly telling you about a potential lawsuit!!
