Easiest way to stop nuisance calls is to refrain from answering your phone altogether.... hard to do at first, but by answering the call or even just terminating the call, lets the nuisance caller know that your phone is active and that someone is on the other end, that's why they keep ringing you. I work on the theory that if someone genuinely needs to get hold of you urgently, they'll ring you back fairly quickly and these nuisance callers have never rung me straight back within minutes of their first attempt. After they ring the first time, most new phones have a system for blocking such numbers, the caller company get a tone which makes them believe your number is constantly engaged so their call can't get through. They are a ppi firm. Rang them and said I was prt of Telephone Service, and they rang off. Join the telephone preference service - it's free, and can be used for landlines and mobiles.
