I received a call from this number this morning and answered it. I then got a pre-recorded message telling me to claim PPI. As soon as I realised what it was I ended the call. It is so irritating, especially as I don't think I've ever bought payment protection insurance.
Just checked the log of my mobile and I've had at least 3 calls from this company in the last three weeks...... It is a PPI company.
They weren't happy when I told them that I work in financial services and sold myself my PPI.....the guy on the other end of the phone just couldn't understand. These people are reading scripts and if you put a reasoned argument to them (in fact if you put any argument to them) they just have no clue how to respond!
I am now off to try and register my mobile with TPS and see what happens!
Owner: PPI claim company
the number is used by seldom marketing. there is a fater and son called clark seldom they both are directors of numerous loan ppi and similar companies. why are these people allowed to keep opening companies and con enough money to live in 1.8 million pound houses in henly
Owner: seldon marketing
Standard "May or may not call back ...." , "Register to stop calls on the TPS site (Which we will blantently ignore when we set up another company to do the same .... Oh and you've been charged 50p for this message you've dialed twice because the first time you pressed 9 we cut you off ..... and we will do so again ... Thank you...) .....
Owner: Didn't say
The people using this number have information that could only have come from my records in A&E. They are now hounding me to make a claim. I am having at least 3 calls a day from them and they have been offensive when I've demanded to know how they were able to access the confidential information they have.
Owner: They said Claims Direct??
I keep getting this number phoning my mobile, I called it back, and pressed number 9 to stop receiving calls from them, but sure I did this before, and they are still bloody phoning. I have TPS on my landline, but how do you get it on a mobile number? but can you, I also receive txts from these idiots, to which I replied bleep bleep the last time, not had one since, but I won't hold my breath. Sick of them, and how thehell do they get my mobile number anyway??
Owner: Sales, probably PPI
got a call from this number at 1255 today. been a member of TPS for years. not happy, and want them dealt with. can't find out who they are, so don't have info to report them.
they call my mobile regularly (am going to try to block it if I can) - someone said they say contact tps to block them but I have been with tps for years and I still get this because its on my mobile, and I get loads of marketing calls on my landline which just ignore tps
I suggest you all report them to the ICO.
see the ofcom page for a link on reporting nuisance calls.

Allowing people to complain here is quite possibly just a good scam to stop us complaining formally and avoid any real consequences.
And if it isn't, then this site should encourage us to use the formal methods that can get these companies fined etc.

I have received three calls from this number w.c 29.04.13 - they never leave a message and my friend has also recieved calls. When you call back a voicemail states this is a call recieved from a sales and marketing company it is nothing to worry about - if you wish to opt out contact the tps - I certainly will be contacting tps as these are nuisance calls from a company whose voicemail does not even state the name of the business. I am particularly irritated given my number is registered with tps.
I have been called by this company about once a week for a couple of months. Their alleged opt-out option doesn't work (no surprise there).
This time I decided to 'process my claim'.
I asked who the company was and was told that it is the PPI Helpline.
I asked if that meant PPI Helpline Ltd and was told yes
(But that name is not registered at Companies House, so it's not true)
She also told me they are based at 12 Queen St Glasgow if anyone feels like sending them a polite note.
I got bored at this point and let it go.

I have had two calls from this number today. The first was a recorded message about writing off debt. I didn't answer the second.

I've literally just had a call from this number. When I answered I just got bleeps to indicate the other end had cut off. Googled the number and found this, so at least I know where the call has come from...bloomin PPI claims company! The banks should just pay everyone back and be done with it...at least it would shut these guys up!
I watched a program the other day and this bloke aswered the phone as you do and it was one of these companies , he kept them talking to find out which company it was and the told them he wasn't interested, and that if they called again he would charge them £10 per min , he also wrote to the company stating this... A few days later who should ring , yes the company , he spoke to them for 19 and half min and billed them for £195 which he did get once he said he was going to take them to a small claims court.
