    Said it's from Lloyds it's a scam

Scam. Do not call this number. Lloyds confirmed - use number on Lloyds website or back of card. Tricky as came on text message in same thread as valid "setting up new payments" from Lloyds...but different 0345 number was suspicious. Take care.

It's real. I phoned the main Lloyds number to check.

I keep receiving messages which states that some transactions are being made with my debit card (Which is already cancelled by the bank as requested by me) and I should contact the number 03456004862. scam

Told to contact this number after I had informed "Nigel" that I suspected his motives and that he was trying to scam me and that I was going to contact Lloyds Bank myself.
The number came up on what looked like a genuine Lloyds Bank message source.
    BE VERY CAREFULL

This is definitely a scam number. Number of 0800 169 7762 rang on my mobile - didn't answer but listened to the message. It was a lady claiming to be from Lloyds Bank and that it had been noted that there was possible fraudulent activity on my account and I should ring 0345 600 4862 to speak directly to one of their advisers - they were available 24 hours a day. Sensing this was slightly dodgy, I did a google search of the number and alighted on this page, where the information was somewhat mixed. I decided to ring the number on the back of my card, and spoke to an actual Lloyds Bank employee, who took me through security and then put me through to their Fraud Department. Thankfully, there was no fraudulent activity on my account, but she has cancelled my card anyway and I have a new on the way. I wouldn't normally comment on sites like this, but having read an article about Helen Skelton losing £70k due to a bank scam, I thought it was worth it.

This is a scam, they are trying to steal your money, only ring the number on the back of the card

If the number is 0345 600 4862 it is a fraud prevention number associated with online payments made using a Lloyds card. I had this come up when trying to make an online payment. I called Lloyds direct first to confirm it was legitimate before calling the number. They wanted to check that I was the rightful card holder and that I wanted to make the payment I was attempting. This is something they do every now and then, particularly as this was quite a large payment. I answered some security questions and the payment went through. A couple of posts at the top of this page refer to an 0845... version of this number, this appears to be a scam number.

Had this a couple of times. Called Lloyds on genuine number who confirmed it is a scam.

I have just received a text message from 0845 600 4862 stating a ref number and to call them regarding to an on-going fraud investigation.
I was suspicious of this but rang the number anyway and an Irish speaking make who would only give his first name only as 'Tom' wanted my banking details.
Knowing nothing about an ongoing investigation I strongly believe this to be a scam and have reported the number to Action Fraud Police.
Always check with your own branch if unsure is what I would suggest.

Genuine - Lloyds bank fraud department.

Received a message from this number asking me to contact them regarding possible fraudulent transactions on my credit card. I'll admit I was suspicious and checked with lloyds bank twitter service @AskLloydsBank that this was a real fraud department number they confirmed that it was. Still suspicious I decided to contact the bank directly on the number printed on the back of my debit card instead of ringing this number. Lloyds once again confirmed that it was their fraud department trying to contact me as my credit card had been blocked and suggested I call the number.

When I called the number I spoke to a Scottish woman who was able to view my bank records with only the code sent to me in the original message. She had concerns over a payment made to a company in China. Once I had confirmed it was me who made the payment and it was not fraud she was able to allow the payment to go through and unblock my card.

     Owner: Lloyds bank fraud department.

This is genuine. Suspicious, I rang the number on the back of my debit card first and they confirmed it was their fraud dept. I then rang the 0345 600 4862 and my card had been used in fraudulent transactions in australia.

I received 3 calls from 0800 032 7329 asking me to call Lloyds business banking on 0345 600 4862 quoting a reference number. I also had a conversation with someone on one call reporting to be from Lloyds fraud dept - Scottish accent, sounded professional and asked me for security information (bank acc number & sort code etc..). I didn't give him any information and he politely told me to call the number on the back of my card to speak to the fraud department. When I called Lloyds ON ANOTHER PHONE they told me that they hadn't called and this was a phishing call.

Had a call purporting to be from Halifax Bank from 08453560024 re fraudulent use of card. Did not respond but phoned the tel no on the back of the card. Told by Halifax this is a scam do not respond. House phone went again this morning (3rd time) -displaying the 0845 no so ended up speaking to "Brian". Told him it was a scam and he would not get any details. Sounded genuine and then gave me the above no 0345 to phone, but phone line was dead. Waited a few minutes for phone to clear. DO NOT PHONE THESE NUMBERS- THEY ARE A SCAM.
