I had the pop up about Trojan when I tried to open a website. Hope I did nothing worse as I called number and even aloud remote to my laptop.
He showed me a list of problems that had to be resolved. Cost £199 for one time or £399 for a year.

Same as everyone else comments. Came up, ended it with task manager. Now been looking for any programs that were installed etc and found nothing. Just seems to be a website - virus-0x13109473896502.com that must have come up when on google.

    SCAM.
Falsely purports to be connected with Windows Defender. Do not engage.

Was very shaken by experience: am so grateful to you all for explanations and advice posted here.

    - Bright red screen.

    - Freezes on attempt to exit. Restarts with automated spoken message in stilted American accent.

    - Pop-ups warning of Trojan Virus/ hacking and "fatal error". (Yet no mention by my Norton 360 anti-virus/ anti-malware system).

    - Threatening tone to phone 0800 0488866 immediately.

    - Freezes on attempt to exit. Restarts with automated spoken message in female American accent.

    - Odd phrasing/ poor grammar
e.g. "...there was a dangerous to try to get an access..."
/ "...we recommend you to freeze your accounts until some measures will being taken..."

Message on screen appeared saying that I had a Trojan virus and had to call this number. Used End Task Manager to get rid of it and ran my antivirus software. No virus detected. Researched web and found that this was a hoax.

I also got this pop up on my screen and had to shut it down to clear it. I ran McAfee virus scan and there was no report of any viruses.

This happened to me last week, luckily I did not ring number or click on anything, had to go back many restore points to clear screen, installed a new antivirus and a free anti Trojan checker (Spybot), nothing found by either program, hopefully all is OK now.

If the pop up is read, the grammar reveals it as a scam.

This too was a fraudulent pop up. I had to go to the task manager to shut the damn thing down. All seems to be fine now though. Please DO NOT be tempted to call the number because that's just asking for trouble! NEVER call these people back!

It popped up for me yesterday and sent me into a really bad panic attack. When I searched the number, this and another similar who called site appeared as a result, thankfully. So we (my mum and I) avoided calling that number, switched my laptop off and then on again and cleared my browsing history as a precaution. Going to renew antivirus subscription when we can afford it because the incident flared my anxiety up.

same as previous posts, got a pop-up warning me that there was a Trojan and to call the Toll free 0800 number. I stupidly called but hung up and then was called back by 01624891417 strange call but i hung up on that too. Typed numbers in to a different computer whilst running a full scan of my laptop. Feel foolish that I fell for it, now angry that it has just wasted my afternoon.
